Alliance française Cayenne is dedicated to fostering cultural dialogue and cross-cultural exchange. From this perspective, the territory of French Guiana represents an exceptional heritage and a living reality that provides a uniquely rich intercultural environment.
Languages—as vessels of history, social and cultural heritage, and knowledge—are fundamental to individual identity. The intercultural approach we promote, both in our cultural events and our language programs, enables our instructors and contributors to adopt a "decentered" pedagogical stance. This encourages a balanced perspective on personal representations, stereotypes and values, ensuring they are understood and shared by all.
To bring our intercultural vision to life and promote the languages and cultures of French Guiana, the Alliance Française de Cayenne regularly organizes events that showcase French culture alongside the diverse cultures present within the territory. These initiatives are most often implemented in partnership with other associations or cultural organizations, thanks to the support of the DAC, the CTG, and the Alliances Françaises of Brazil.
Afin de mettre en œuvre notre vision interculturelle, de promouvoir les cultures et les langues de Guyane, l’Alliance Française de Cayenne organise régulièrement des événements de diffusion de la culture française et des cultures présentes sur le territoire guyanais. Ces manifestations sont le plus souvent mises en œuvre en partenariat avec d’autres associations ou structures de diffusion des cultures grâce au soutien notamment de la DAC, de la CTG ou encore des Alliances Françaises du Brésil.
In order to promote and raise awareness of local, French, and Francophone cultures, Alliance Française Cayenne offers a convivial and festive program each year. Cinema in partnership with the Territorial Collectivity of French Guiana, literary gatherings, book signings, artist residencies, oral expression or visual arts workshops, conferences and exhibitions all punctuate the cultural year at Alliance Française Cayenne.
